1. IPS self-study course for pharmaceutical sales representatives
A particularly cost-effective option is the independent preparation for the IHK examination for qualified pharmaceutical sales representatives.
For certified pharmaceutical sales representatives who want to refresh and update their specialized knowledge.
For pharmaceutical sales representatives without the required IHK qualification as a certified pharmaceutical sales representative (e.g., biologists, chemists, pharmacists, physicians, PTAs, MTAs, BTAs) who nevertheless wish to acquire this knowledge for their professional advancement – with or without a subsequent IHK examination.
For people who want to learn more about these specialized subjects for other reasons – with or without training and subsequent IHK examination.
A self-study course for participants who want to learn the subject matter independently at a more favourable price.

Learning content
The price-reduced self-study course Pharmaceutical Sales Representative Knowledge offers you the same content 1:1 in the same form as the online portal of the supervised preparation course for the IHK examination for certified pharmaceutical sales representatives, regardless of whether you wish to complete the training with IHK examination or not. There are no differences between the two courses in terms of learning content and learning support tools for consolidating knowledge and monitoring success. The content and depth of the learning material is based on the “Framework Plan for Certified Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives” of the Association of German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK), which is decisive for this training programme. Its scope – and therefore also the scope of this self-study course – is based on a comparative value of 1,010 teaching hours. IHK examination questions can be derived from the entire learning material.
The self-learning course “Pharmaceutical Sales Representative Knowledge” can not only be used as a professional development course to become a certified pharmaceutical sales representative (more precisely: as a “preparation course for the Chamber of Industry and Commerce examination”), but also as a cost-effective alternative – compared to supervised training – for acquiring or refreshing the above-mentioned material without a subsequent IHK – examination. You can also use the self-study course to increase your professional competence, e.g, to increase your success or promote your career in the pharmaceutical sales force.

Would you like to obtain the IHK qualification?

If you wish to take the examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and thus complete further training to become a certified pharmaceutical sales representative, you will require authorization to take the IHK examination, which can only be granted by the relevant IHK.
However, as you can also take the self-study course without the aim of further training with an IHK examination, the existence or attainability of an authorisation for the IHK examination is not a prerequisite for participation in this cost-effective course. As a precautionary measure, however, we would like to point out that for the “1. IPS self-study course for pharmaceutical sales representatives”, every participant who would like to take the IHK examination as part of a self-study course should apply for admission to the examining IHK in good time, as this is not always granted because certain professional requirements must be met.
Duration of the online course
You can use the self-study course for 18 months, regardless of the flat-rate course fee, until you end it yourself by ordering the certificate of use
Optional knowledge test
Just like the supervised online preparation course for the IHK examination “Certified Pharmaceutical Sales Representative”, the self-study course “Pharmaceutical Sales Representative Knowledge” also offers the opportunity to test and apply the knowledge already acquired during the learning process. The knowledge checks in this self-study course are purely optional and also serve to practise and consolidate the learning material. They also show you how detailed you need to learn and master the material in order to be able to answer questions from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce later on.
Supplementary learning and comprehension aids
When you register for the self-study course Pharmaceutical Sales Representative Knowledge, you will receive a detailed video introduction to the learning system, a step-by-step instruction manual in PDF format to download and information on the requirements of any subsequent IHK examination in the FAQ section of the training portal. All learning content automatically adapts to optimize display on mobile devices such as tablets or smartphones. If you not only want to read, but also listen, you can use the read-aloud function of your browser (free add-on) for barrier-free auditory learning.
This course is right for you if you are confident that you can find answers on your own if you don’t understand something in the material straight away. For most questions, it is sufficient to search the Internet for the appropriate explanation. You can also use accompanying books and reference works. There is no “compulsory reading” for this course. Ultimately, it is entirely up to you whether and which additional books you buy.
Please note: Please understand that we are not able to provide any information, even in isolated cases, as part of this training concept, which is geared towards independence. We reserve the right to do this exclusively for participants in our supervised online training programme to become a certified pharmaceutical sales representative.
